Boston, Mass. — Children's Hospital Boston today announced the winners of
it's first Generation Cures online tween poster contest. The competition, which attracted over 700 entries from across the United States, was designed to encourage young people to think creatively about how to communicate the core Generation Cures message of "kids helping kids."
With empowering themes woven into its free games, videos, music, and creativity challenges, Generation Cures is an online community that inspires tweens to make a difference in the world. Kids can then turn that inspiration into action by teaming up with their family members and friends to raise money for Children's Hospital Boston's life-saving pediatric research.
In June Generation Cures launched its new "Creation Station" by inviting kids to get creative for cures. The winning poster entries were voted on by the Generation Cures community. Grace an 11-year old from Pennsylvania earned the grand prize with the creation of a poster entitled "Listen to the Power of Music." Julia, an 11-year old from Massachusetts and Courtney, a 12-year old from Texas each earned First Place awards.
"Generation Cures is a great non-profit organization which I am proud to be a part of," said grand prize winner Grace. "It raises money for such a wonderful cause. That was the inspiration for my poster. I personally think that music has a certain power that can uplift spirits. Each song has a personality that you can relate to. I am blessed to have won a contest that supports such an amazing cause!"
