Representatives from Winchester Hospital and Children's Hospital Boston were be joined in a ribbon cutting ceremony by Burlington town officials. Festivities will include special performances of "High School Musical" by North Shore Music Theatre's Academy Performance Ensemble, music by Radio Disney, entertainment by magician John Casey, face painting, free refreshments from Chick-Fil-A, prizes and giveaways. The play area features a playhouse, climbing structures, toys and diaper changing station.

Mark Marcantano, Vice President, Ambulatory and Network Services for Children's added, "While Children's is best known for providing exceptional pediatric care, we also appreciate the importance of creating opportunities for children and their families to have fun together. We value our ongoing relationship with Winchester as it helps us to provide care for children beyond the Boston area, especially to critically ill newborns and children needing emergency treatment."

"We often see moms and dads bringing along their children when they shop, and this new play area will allow the kids and parents to take a break and get some energy out," said Linnea Gerrior-Kelliher, Director of Mall Marketing for the Burlington Mall.

The Winchester Hospital & Children's Hospital Boston Play Area is open during regular mall hours and will have special events throughout the year. Since the play area is not supervised, it is intended to be a place where families can enjoy activities and respite, rather than serving as a drop-off area.
