On Thursday, November 6 from 3 to 4 pm, world renowned author and illustrator David Macaulay will host a reading and discussion at Children's Hospital Boston. Macaulay will be reading from his latest book The Way We Work: Getting to Know the Amazing Human Body. Following the reading, he will host an open discussion about the books development and methodology, and answer questions from the audience. Macaulay worked closely with Lois Smith, MD, PhD, of the department of ophthalmology at Children's, as one of Macaulay's science and medical advisors.
David Macaulay is a recipient of the Caldecott Medal and Honor Award, the Boston Globe's Horn Book and Christopher Award, and the Washington Post's Children's Book Guild Nonfiction Award. He has also received the Bradford Washburn Award, presented by the Museum of Science in Boston to an outstanding contributor to science. His books have sold over three million copies in the United States.
