On Feb. 23, Charles Weinstein will become Children's Hospital Boston's new vice president for Real Estate and Planning Development. Weinstein comes to Children's after holding a similar position at the Johns Hopkins Institutions in Maryland. Weinstein's experience will help Children's to further its role as a top medical institution through the development of new properties. Children's new clinical building will be complete within the next year and Weinstein will oversee this project and others that will improve the services offered by the hospital.
Weinstein joins Children's with more than 30 years of experience. He has held influential real estate and development roles at multiple institutions. In this role, Weinstein managed the design and construction of offices, research and laboratory facilities, site improvements, voice data connectivity and NIH-funded lab operations. In his new role at Children's, he will deal with many of these same functions.
For four years, Weinstein served as vice president for South Charles Realty Corp., NationsBank and Bank of America, where he was responsible for managing the real estate assets of the nations second largest bank.
