Santa to Virtually Visit Patients at Children's Hospital Boston

December 20, 2007
This holiday season, hospitalized children who won't be able to see Santa Claus at the mall and may not even be home for Christmas will have a chance to see Santa and talk to him face-to-face through the magic of the Internet. Patients at Children's Hospital Boston will have the opportunity to speak with Santa in his workshop in the North Pole by using an Internet video phone (VoIP) system provided by Cisco Systems' Boxborough office, which will allow children to speed dial Santa with the press of a button. It's a unique high-tech opportunity to share with him their special requests.

Elves will be on hand to help facilitate conversations with Santa. The event will take place in the Patient Entertainment Center (PEC), which will be filled with Christmas decorations and holiday music.

In addition to making their cutting-edge technology available to patients and their families, Cisco's Boxborough office generously ran a toy drive and will be dropping off the collected gift donations for patients.
