Lebanon, NH – Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD) and Children’s Hospital Boston have announced a new collaboration aimed at bringing expanded specialty pediatric care to the CHaD practice at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester in Manchester, NH.

Beginning this summer Children’s Hospital Boston specialists in gastroenterology, nephrology and cardiology will begin outpatient practice hours at CHaD-Manchester. The collaboration brings together two leading pediatric focused institutions, to expand access for patients in southern New Hampshire by providing a more complete range of ambulatory pediatric specialty services.

"We are delighted to be able to expand our services to the children of southern New Hampshire,” said CHaD Director Paul Merguerian MD. “This collaboration will harness the power and resources of New Hampshire’s only NACHRI-approved, comprehensive, full-service children’s hospital with one of the nation’s top providers of pediatric care. We are extremely pleased to be able to continue our relationship with Children’s Hospital Boston to provide much-needed care where it’s needed most: close to home for our patients.”

Under the collaboration, Children’s Hospital Boston gastroenterologists will add an additional full-time physician to the two existing pediatric gastroenterologists at the CHaD location at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Manchester, providing outpatient care and endoscopy services. A pediatric nephrologist will provide clinic coverage at Manchester for two sessions monthly – making the coverage of this specialty now weekly. The cardiologist will spend the majority of his time at CHaD.

“We are pleased to formalize our relationship with CHaD and expand access to essential care for children in southern New Hampshire with the convenience of being closer to home,” said James Mandell, MD, CEO of Children’s Hospital Boston.

CHaD and Children’s Hospital Boston also benefit from affiliations with world class medical schools at Dartmouth and Harvard, respectively.

“This is, quite simply, about providing the most sophisticated scope and highest-quality care for our children,” noted Dr. Merguerian. “Our focus is on providing much needed, advanced specialty medical services for children and adolescents, and compassionate care for those children and their families.”
