History and examination
History
will probably be unrevealing. Attention should be given to family history of mental retardation, mental illness, dislocated ocular lens, severe myopia and early onset thrombo-embolism.
Examination
should reveal a clinically normal neonate.
It is essential to refer to a metabolic center to ensure that the child and family receive the necessary metabolic evaluation.
