Course Description

Boston Children's Hospital and Beverly Hospital. a member of Lahey Health, are proud to present the 2015 Pediatric Health Care Summit at Beverly Hospital. This community-based continuing medical education (CME) seminar is offered free of charge and designed to inform pediatric primary care providers of the changing trends in the management of common health concerns among children. 

Please join us on Wednesday, April 29, for a half day of presentations and discussions focused on topics that are timely and relevant to pediatric practices.

About the Conference

Who Should Attend?

Pediatricians, pediatric nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants and other members of the health care team. 

Course Objectives:

•  Distinguish the most common presenting symptom of Ebola disease
•  Evaluate means to prevent the transmission of Ebola in the healthcare setting
•  Name five risk factors for severe viral bronchiolitis 
•  Discuss the current AAP guidelines regarding inpatient treatment for first episode of severe viral bronchiolitis 
•  Identify the differential diagnosis for infants with acute wheezing and respiratory distress
•  Review the common and rare pulmonary sequelae of severe viral bronchiolitis
•  Discuss trends in antibiotic resistance that impact outpatient prescribing
•  Review recent literature on antibiotic treatment of common outpatient infections
•  Provide an overview of new or emerging antimicrobials
•  Review evidence base on CV impact of stimulants for ADHD
•  Understand current gudelines for safety monitoring
•  Discuss future research directions on the topic
