Neurosciences Program (Neurology and Neurosurgery) The only program offering both inpatient and outpatient follow-up care for fetuses and infants with neurological concerns. The Epilepsy Program is the most experienced pediatric neurology program in the world, conducting more than 4,600 patient visits each year. Children's is the first pediatric hospital to have an MR/OR - an operating room with a mobile MRI unit to provide imaging before, during and after surgery resulting in better precision and safety.

Orthopedic Surgery Program One of the first comprehensive, multidisciplinary programs, it is the largest and busiest orthopedic surgery center in the country with more than 5,000 surgical procedures each year. The program is recognized nationally as the preeminent center for children and young adults with developmental, congenital, neuromuscular, and post traumatic problems of the musculoskeletal system. The team is widely recognized for its use of VEPTR (vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib) insertion, the spinal program and expert treatment for brachial plexus palsies. The renowned Sports Medicine Division performs more than 2,000 surgical procedures each year.

Pediatric Cancer Care Program Children's partners with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to report some of the best outcomes for the most complex and rare childhood cancer diagnosis, attain childhood leukemia cure rates above 80 percent, and provide input on clinical trials for Ewing's sarcoma that have helped raise non-metastatic Ewing's sarcoma survival rates to near 70 percent. Our brain tumor experts ensure optimal outcomes by using new technologies, such as intraoperative MRI and chemotherapy delivery methods and the solid tumor team offers MIGB treatment for neuroblastoma patients.

Urology Program The wor;d's largest pediatric urology service and the first at a major children's hospital. Eleven faculty members conduct 16,500 patient visits and perform 2,700 surgical procedures each year. The team is recognized for its expertise in treatment of exstrophy of the bladder, epispadias, myelodysplasia and related spinal disorders. Specialty programs including the Neurourology Center, Center for Bladder Exstrophy, Kidney Stone Center, Andrology Center and Center for Perinatal Urology are at the forefront of innovation. The team has pioneered the use of minimally-invasive and robotic-assisted surgery, both clinically and in research.

Vascular Anomalies Programs Children's Vascular Anomalies Center was the first program of its kind in the country and now sees the largest clinical volume of vascular anomaly patients in the world. In addition to direct patient care at Children's, the interdisciplinary staff makes their expertise available to patients and physicians outside of Massachusetts through consultations and reviews during the center's weekly conference.
