Staff from Boston Children’s Hospital’s Interpreter Services Department are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. In addition to face-to-face interpreter services, the department uses technology like the dual-phone system and video conferencing.

In fiscal year 2011, the Interpreter Services Department met the interpreting needs for over 146,753 encounters in 63 languages in all areas of the hospital.

The Interpreter Services Department is available to provide interpreter services to all Limited English Proficient patients and families at any Boston Children’s location. If you need an interpreter while you are in the hospital, please ask your child's nurse or page the interpreter on-call through the page operator, at +1-617-355-6369 (or dial extension 5-6369 from any phone in the hospital).
