The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Program is designed to meet the needs of all healthcare professionals, including: pediatricians, emergency physicians, family practice physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals who work with or may work with pediatric patients.
|
|
|
The goal of the PALS Program is to provide the participant with information needed to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest; information and strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children; and the cognitive & psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate & stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest.

The PALS Provider course is intended for first time participants. The course lasts 2-days with Day 1 from 8am-4:45pm and Day 2 from 8am-2:30pm. BLS certification is strongly recommended. The next available classes are:

The PALS Refresher course is intended for anyone currently certified in PALS who wishes to renew their certification. Refresher course participants must not have a lapse in certification greater than one year and BLS certification is strongly recommended. The course lasts 1 day from 8am-4pm.

PEARS is an intermediate course designed to enhance the healthcare provider's basic pediatric life support knowledge to prepare students to initiate and manage the first few minutes of a pediatric arrest or prevent the arrest of a pediatric victim at risk of or in severe cardiopulmonary distress. This course is not intended for the advanced provider. The course lasts one day from 8am-4pm. The next available classes are:

The PALS Instructor course is intended for anyone interested in teaching the PALS curriculum to other healthcare professionals. Applicants must possess a current PALS Provider certification card and a current BLS/CPR certification card at the time of registration.
