Kenote speaker Emery N. Brown, MD, PhD, delivers an inspiring speech to the crowd.
Dr. Brown is a professor of Computational Neuroscience and Health Sciences and Technology at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital.
He received a BA (magna cum laude) in applied mathematics from Harvard College, an MD (magna cum laude) from Harvard Medical School and a PhD in statistics from Harvard University. Dr. Brown is an anesthesiologist-statistician who uses functional imaging to study in humans how anesthetic drugs act in the brain to create the state of general anesthesia. His honors and awards include being the recipient of an NIH Director's Pioneer Award.
