Matt explained that an Echocardiogram, or "Echo", exam is a one-hour, non-invasive (without any incisions being made) procedure that generates ultrasonic sound waves using an instrument called a transducer, or probe. These sound waves bounce off the heart structures, creating a computer-generated image of the heart's walls and valves.
