Like all patient rooms, mine had a phone I could use for calling family and friends. Cell phones interfere with some equipment in the hospital, so bring a calling card and use the phone in your room. Anyone can call directly into your room!

Also, I packed my laptop for when I was feeling better. I could create my own patient website thanks to the free internet access and Wi-Fi throughout the hospital.
