At first, John's mother Nancy assumed the problem was emotional as opposed to urological. "I knew something was wrong, but I first thought he was doing this out of rebellion or as a way to get attention," she says.

John was referred to Children's Department of Urology and underwent a series to tests to determine the cause of the problem. Doctors did not find urinary tract infection and his bladder appeared normal.

This is when their doctor recommended that John start biofeedback in Urodynamics.
