Man no face

I cannot remember a time when I seriously considered pursuing any other path than becoming a physician.  Throughout my education I always found the sciences to be particularly personally rewarding and, in medicine, I knew I could further develop this passion for biology while blending my desire to help others in need.  I remember the first time in medical school I witnessed the look of fear on a frightened patient’s face be eased by the timely and thoughtful words of a compassionate clinician and I began to realize that being a strong practicing physician requires more than simply being a good student.  The vulnerability of children, and the helplessness I know all parents feel when their child is sick, has always had a strong pull for me throughout my medical training and is the reason I chose a career caring for this particular group of very special patients.  I am so grateful to work at Boston Children’s Hospital alongside the highest quality team of caregivers as we continue to treat until every child is well.
