Osob Issa | Professional History

Ms. Osob Issa is a consultant for Trauma Systems Therapy for Refugees (TST-R) and a clinical social worker at the Trauma and Community Resilience Center. Osob has extensive knowledge in delivering both clinical and research interventions to various settings including community hospitals, community based health centers, etc. She has devoted her career to helping marginalized populations (e.g, refugees, and immigrants) gain access to mental health services and reduce systemic barriers in healthcare in general. She has provided trauma-informed training, consultations, and administrative support to leaders in various sectors in order to better understand the intersectionality of racial trauma and mental health.

There are many obstacles that refugee and immigrant families and children face daily and as a member of the immigrant community, my loved-ones and I have experienced many of such challenges. Being a member of TCRC gives me the opportunity to advocate for and elevate underrepresented children and families.
