Research Overview

Dr. Hennelly's research has focused on evaluation and management of oropharyngeal trauma and she is currently studying pulmonary embolism evaluation and management in the ED. Dr. Hennelly also has performed several decision analysis studies, comparing risks and benefits for management strategies for various clinical scenarios including oropharyngeal trauma and traumatic brain injury, specifically evaluating imaging radiation risks.

About Kara Hennelly

Kara Hennelly received her MD from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and completed her residency at Saint Louis Children’s Hospital in 2007. Dr. Hennelly completed her pediatric emergency medicine fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital in 2010 and then joined the faculty.
