I always wanted to utilize my love for technology and gadgets into helping improve the lives of young children and their families. I believe that there is a lot we can do to incorporate advances in technology to the medical field. My job at Boston Children’s Hospital gives me a unique opportunity to apply these technological advances to my clinical work. I want to build a future where diagnosis of diseases in children is made faster, more accurate and minimally invasive treatments are developed at a rapid pace.

Professional History

Dr. Prabhu is the Director of the Advanced Image Analysis Lab at Children’s Hospital and Co-Director of the SIMPEDs3D Print program at Boston Children’s Hospital. In conjunction with his colleagues in the computational radiology lab, he has developed robust techniques for biomarker measurements in children and adults that have applications in patients with epilepsy and neurometabolic disease. Dr. Prabhu has developed expertise in 3D modeling on various FDA approved commercial and open source software platforms. He has worked over the last year with the simulation service creating realistic, bespoke 3D models in the hospital while liaising with clinicians from various specialties. Dr. Prabhu's research interests include imaging children with intractable epilepsy, investigating causes of sudden death in childhood, and developing algorithms for automated diagnosis in neurometabolic diseases.
