PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

My research focuses on pediatric bone marrow failure-associated MDS and AML. I currently work in the lab of Akiko Shimamura, MD, PhD and am studying the somatic mutations that develop over time in patients with bone marrow failure syndromes. My hope is to better understand which mutations cause cancer in this group of patients with bone marrow failure and how to better diagnose and treat pediatric patients with these diseases.
