I believe that we all need to give patients the time they deserve – to be present and involved in every patient interaction.  I never want my patients to feel rushed, or feel as though some part of their care was glossed over.

I entered medicine in order to provide outstanding care to patients struggling with problems that sometimes go unaddressed by the medical system.  For me, this means making sure I confront issues that might be considered too complicated by some, like questions of mental health or addiction.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

My goal is to provide exceptional care to adolescents and young adults. Although I am a primary care physician by training, I am also a specialist in drug and alcohol addiction, and routinely provide care to youth who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer/questioning (LGBTQ). Since 2007, I have conducted research in the field of substance use to understand the underpinnings of addiction and determine the most effective ways to treat it. Through my clinical work, research, and education, I hope to improve the well-being of vulnerable youth and invest in the health of generations to come.
