I hope to work on the mind-body connection as a whole and not only diagnose or treat the problems, but come up with unique recommendations that will help my patients and families get through the difficult times.

Philosophy of Care

Going to the doctor’s is often a daunting experience. There are many emotions, concerns, thoughts that go through the mind of the patient, their loved ones and even your physicians aside from the physical symptoms that may bring them in.  I try to take all of those factors into consideration because each person is more complex than a list of symptoms, diagnoses and treatments.  I hope to work on the mind-body connection as a whole and not only diagnose or treat the problems, but come up with unique recommendations that will help my patients and families get through the difficult times.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

During my training here at Boston Children’s, I became extremely interested in the care of acute neurologic problems from their workup, treatment and just as importantly, their transition to home.  Because of my interests and the immense support of the department, I became our first neurohospitalist, where I spend most of my clinical time attending on our inpatient and consult services as well as running a ‘discharge clinic’ that focuses on short term follow up after hospitalization to address acute questions and concerns after the hospital stay.  All of these clinical experiences help me to identify areas that we focus on for quality improvement, from systems issues to patient care and even physician and patient wellness.
