Danielle Stamm | Professional History

I came to the field of advanced practice nursing through combining my love of science and research with my love of interacting with and helping people. Following completion of my undergraduate study in biology and psychology, I began my career at Boston Children’s Hospital as a research technician in a lab that focused on angiogenesis and PN-associated liver disease. Upon completing graduate school where I was trained as an advanced practice nurse, I was able to return to Boston Children’s Hospital as a research nurse practitioner on a Compassionate Use FDA trial providing treatment to children with PN-associated liver disease, a serious complication of long term parenteral nutrition (PN) use. In that role, I developed my passion for understanding and treating patients and families affected by intestinal failure in a broader sense. I am now privileged to be able to provide cutting edge, multidisciplinary care to patients and families facing this challenging and chronic illness as the clinical coordinator/nurse practitioner in the CAIR program.
