Professional History

Dr. Debbie James has been a primary care pediatrician in Greater Boston since finishing her pediatric residency in 2002. In 2006, she started her own practice, Children's Garden Pediatrics, where she continues to take care of children ranging in age from newborns through college students. She lives in Newton with her husband and two daughters. In her free time she is a singer, avid gardener, and student of circus arts.

I believe that my role as a primary care pediatrician is to guide my patients and their parents through illness as well as the behavioral and developmental ups and downs of childhood. By engaging in shared decision-making and teaching families how to recognize and treat common problems, I hope to empower them to take great care of their kids and feel confident while they do it.
