For the past forty years I have cared for pediatric patients in various clinical areas as a staff nurse, clinical specialist and nurse practitioner at Boston Children’s Hospital. I have achieved multiple credentials while developing academically from a diploma graduate, to a bachelor of science in nursing and lastly to a master’s of science. I have developed professionally as a staff nurse I to II, including charge nurse and staff nurse preceptor, to a pediatric nurse practitioner for over 20 years, also mentoring students in the clinical area of trauma and neuroscience. I am a certified neuroscience nurse of ten years and lead study groups and review classes for colleagues preparing for the certification. I have presented at professional meetings both nationally and locally throughout my years as a nurse on various topics. I have served as officer in local chapters of several professional organizations. For approximately eight years I have been an evidence-based practice mentor and have held the position of co-chair and chair for the nursing EBP subcommittee from many years. I participated in the development and roll-out of the Evidence-Based Practice Mentorship Program this year.
