An echocardiography is a procedure used to assess the heart's structures and function.

  • also called echo, cardiac ultrasound or ultrasonography, cardiac Doppler, transthoracic echocardiography, or TTE
  • used to diagnose aneurysms, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart defects, congestive heart failure, pericarditis and valve disease
