Putting families first

Our Heart Center serves as a resource for all patients with congenital heart disease. The care we provide doesn’t begin at the point of admission or end at the point of discharge—and it isn’t restricted by the age of the patient.

  • We are home to the largest and most experienced fetal cardiology program in the country. We offer fetal care that includes diagnostics, support services and in some cases, fetal intervention.
  • We deliver comprehensive care for adults through our Boston Adult Congenital Heart (BACH) program. BACH—the first program of its kind in the United States—provides multidisciplinary care including diagnostics, catheterization and surgery for more than 6,000 patients.
  • Every patient’s care plan incorporates educational resources, mental and emotional health support, too. We have one of the only Cardiac Neurodevelopment programs of its kind—providing comprehensive, long-term support and guidance to assist patients and families in managing any neurodevelopmental challenges relating to a congenital heart defect.
  • We also offer a variety of parent-to-parent and patient-to-patient mentoring programs.
On our For Patients and Families site, you can read all you need to know about:
At the Heart Center, we forge close working relationships with, and guidance for, all members of the family. Learn more about resources available for your family at the Heart Center.
We are grateful to have been ranked #1 on U.S. News & World Report's list of the best children's hospitals in the nation for the third year in a row, an honor we could not have achieved without the patients and families who inspire us to do our very best for them. Thanks to you, Boston Children's is a place where we can write the greatest children's stories ever told.”
