PowerChart Touch- Coming Soon!
PowerChart Touch is a suite of mobile applications that allows you to access PowerChart from anywhere with only an internet connection. There is no VPN connection needed so this provides easy access via the “Ambulatory” and “Message Center” apps to most of what you would need in the medical record. PowerChart Touch has many wonderful features, however it is not a full replacement for all functions on the desktop version, including orders and meaningful use functions. Simply put, PowerChart Touch offers wonderful convenience and accessibility to review charts and leverage the power of Nuance dictation but does not yet replace the desktop.
Disclaimer: not all functionality demonstrated in the following video will be available in the first implementation phase of PowerChart Touch at Boston Children's Hospital. For more information on what will be available, go to our intranet page here.

TigerText is available for anyone at Boston Children’s Hospital to use for secure text messaging. It is a free app that can be downloaded to your Android or iOS device (iPhone/iPad) as well as accessed from any web browser.
TigerText is HIPAA complaint and can be a very useful tool for quick two-way communications among individuals as well as groups. This is an approved and secure method for protected health information to be sent via text messages, images, videos, and audio recordings easily among Boston Children's Hospital employees. Users can see when their messages are delivered and read to ensure proper message receipt.
How to Download/Use TigerText:
When signing up for TigerText, use your Boston Children's Hospital credentials:
Android Users (please note that the correct app to download is "tt" icon, however tutorial videos will show the same functionality with the yellow app)
Desktop (PC) Users
1.Make sure you connect to Boston Children's Hospital Wifi for more reliable message delivery.
2.Place the TigerText app on your mobile device’s front page.
3.Use a picture of yourself as your profile image to ensure correct sender/receiver.
4.To remain HIPAA compliant, use the camera within TigerText for photos & videos.
5.As the number of users grow, it is best for now to ensure the person you are texting is an active user on TigerText before starting a conversation. If they are not, they will receive a secure message via their Children’s email instead of on the mobile app.
6.Do not use standard text messaging for anything containing protected health information (more details here: Boston Children's Text Messaging Policy).
