Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Is previous experience with difficult family situations and conferences necessary for participation?
A. No, the PERCS program is open to clinicians with a range of experience and from multiple disciplines. We encourage those with limited experience to participate and they have provided positive feedback about the opportunities to learn and practice.
Q. Does the PERCS program offer continuing education credits?
A. No, not at the present time.
Q. Will I be required to participate in the live simulations?
A. We encourage, but do not request, each participant to be part of the simulations because they offer a unique learning opportunity.
Q. My schedule is really tight. Can I come for just part of the PERCS training day?
A. Given the nature of the program, the learning is a collaborative process that builds throughout the day. Participants are expected to attend the full day.

Q. I have been working in the ICU for twelve years. Will I learn anything new from PERCS?
A. We have found that experienced clinicians seem to benefit as much from the workshop as more junior clinicians.
Q. I do not work at Children's Hospital Boston. Can I still attend the program?
A. We welcome clinicians from other institutions to join us on a space available basis.
