The "Why's"
You (or your family member) are one of an estimated "million-strong" young and older adults living with congenital heart disease or its sequelae. You may have just learned about something you have been living with all of your life&you may have discovered some new aspect of a medical issue that you thought was already solved...you may be striving to be an educated-consumer regarding a heart and lung condition that you "thought" you knew about all of your life until now...you may be struggling to cope. Whichever of these, or additional groups you feel you best belong to, one thing is clear. You have proven to yourselves, your families, your friends, your colleagues that you have a determination and strength to be more, to learn more, and to better secure your medical future.

These choices are greater than ever. Today, more adults with congenital heart diseases (ACHD'ers) are active, functioning at higher and higher levels in society, exercising, undergoing catheter and surgical based interventions, and advocating for themselves and their medical colleagues.
