Children's Hospital Boston Center for Refugee Trauma and Resilience
The Children's Hospital Center for Refugee Trauma and Resilience (CHCRTR) is a National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) Treatment and Services Adaptation center with a focus on Refugee Trauma. Currently our programs include Trauma Systems Therapy, Trauma Systems Therapy Adapted for Refugees and Project SHIFA, and the Refugee Services Toolkit. To learn more about our toolkit, click here.
Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School
Recently named an Apple Distinguished School, the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School serves the whole child-mind, body, and spirit-as well as families and the community in which the children reside.
The Refugee and Immigrant Assistance Center
The Refugee and Immigrant Assistance Center's overarching vision is to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services to refugees, asylees and immigrants in the greater Boston Area. Our partnership with RIAC includes their involvement in parent outreach, outreach to the broader Somali community, community education, and cultural consultation.
Boston University School of Social Work
Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) is a dynamic, urban-based graduate school, offering MSW and PhD degrees, as well as continuing professional education. BUSSW's Building Refugee and Immigrant Degrees for Graduate Education (BRIDGE) program's primary goal is to increase the number of social workers serving culturally and linguistically diverse newcomer populations.
Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention
Alliance for inclusion and prevention was founded in 1995 to demonstrate a better way to treat and educate children with emotional and behavioral disorders.
Home for Little Wanderers
The Home for Little Wanderers is a nationally renowned, private, non-profit child and family service agency. Project SHIFA collaborates with The Home’s Safe-at-Home program. The Safe-at-Home is a team of therapists who work intensively with a child, and his or her family, in the home for a period of 3 weeks to 3 months.
Boston Public Schools
The Boston Public Schools welcomes the children of Boston into the public schools, where effective teaching and learning prepare all students to achieve at high levels, and where the entire community works together to focus on children.
Somali Development Center
The Somali Development Center offers assistance to New England's newest residents as they work to bridge cultural divides and become productive members of their communities.
