BACPAC (Bullying and Cyberbullying Prevention & Advocacy Collaborative)
About BACPAC
We are extremely excited to announce the launching of BACPAC (Bullying And Cyberbullying Prevention & Advocacy Collaborative) a hospital based anti-bullying collaborative at Boston Children's Hospital. It is, to our knowledge, the first such team in the country.
We are a multidisciplinary group acting as an information resource to our colleagues, patients, and schools regarding bullying/cyberbullying prevention, detection and intervention. Our team members are also involved in research in this area.
The creation of this collaborative, in part, stems from the fact that our patients, the pediatric neurology patient population, are at a significantly higher risk for peer victimization and its sequelae than the general population.
All of our members are on-staff at Boston Children's Hospital. Our BACPAC team includes professionals from a variety of departments and divisions, including:
as well as Boston Children's Hospital's world-renowned Center on Media and Child Health.
The BACPAC members include professionals from varied training backgrounds including physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, pediatric resource specialists, and education specialists. Our group is also an associate of MARC, the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center at Bridgewater State College, a nationally recognized authority on bullying and cyberbullying.
