Cerebrovascular Disorders and Stroke Program

Outpatient care
The Cerebrovascular Disorders and Stroke Outpatient Program at Boston Children's Hospital provides outpatient evaluation and care for patients with:
- Arterial ischemic stroke
- Cerebral sinovenous thrombosis
- Non-traumatic central nervous system hemorrhage
- Transient ischemic attacks (TIAs, or "mini-strokes")
Our multidisciplinary outpatient clinic, held on Fegan 11 on the Children's main campus, offers the following services:
- Cooperative evaluation by a pediatric neurologist, pediatric hematologist and/or pediatric neurosurgeon
- Primary neurological follow-up care to children with stroke or cerebrovascular disorders
- Additional evaluations, as needed, with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists or educational specialists
- Direct access to consultations and evaluations, as needed, with specialists from Children's Learning Disabilities Program to help with a child's return to school and educational planning after stroke.
