Down Syndrome Program

Baby with hat; Down Syndrome Program at Children's Hospital Boston.

NEW ADDITIONS TO OUR DS PROGRAM TEAM!

Loida Rosario, Case Coordinator:  We are very excited to have Loida Rosario join us as a Community Health Advocate/Case Coordinator.  Loida is the proud mother of a 7-year-old boy with Down syndrome and has over 10 years in the medical field including working with adults with special needs.  She will be working alongside the team in the clinic but is also available to support families in the community through home and school visits.  Loida is fluent in Spanish.  Her enthusiasm is infectious and she is as excited to be part of our team as we are to have her.

Nicole Baumer, MD, Developmental Disabilities Fellow:  Niki Baumer, MD is a 3rd year fellow in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.  Her fellowship program includes training in pediatric and adult neurology as well as neurodevelopmental disabilities.  Her career path is focused on children with complex medical needs and developmental disabilities and her research interests include Down syndrome and autism.   Her interest has been inspired by her experiences with her older sister who has Down syndrome.

Sherry Tsai, CPNP:  We are thrilled to have Sherry Tsai, a Nurse Practioner, see children scheduled in our clinic for children ages 3-18 years old visits and her visits will also include collaboration with one of the attending developmental pediatricians (Drs. Alber Prock, Davidson or Becker).  Sherry is a very experienced pediatric nurse practitioner who has developed expertise in a wide range of fields including neonatology, pediatric neurology, primary care, college health, and endocrinology.  Some of our patients have already met Sherry through the Pains and Incontinence Program or "PIP clinic" in the Developmental Medicine Center where she has worked for nearly 5 years with children experiencing difficulties with toilet training, constipation, enuresis, and encopresis.   Sherry works in a number of developmental clinics and is knowledgable about school and behavioral issues as well.  We are excited to welcome her to the team!
