Meet Our Team

At the Myelodysplastic Syndrome Specialty Care Program, we have a staff of compassionate and experienced pediatric subspecialists including hematopathologists, hematologists, and stem cell transplant experts. Our physicians are focused on family-centered care: From your first visit, you’ll work with a team of professionals who are committed to supporting all of your family’s physical and psychosocial needs. In addition, our coordinated care team includes a pediatric nurse practitioner with extensive experience treating blood disorders such as MDS.

  • Mark Daniel Fleming, MD, DPhil
    Fleming is a hematopathologist and Children’s Pathologist-In-Chief. He specializes diagnosis of cancers of the blood and lymph systems. His research focuses on iron metabolism in the blood. In addition, he is an associate professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School.
  • Inga Hofmann-Zhang, MD, PhD
    Hofmann is a pediatric hematologist oncologist and hematopoietic stem cell transplant physician who specializes in the study of blood cell formation. She is an attending physician at Children’s and an instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
  • Leslie E. Lehmann, MD
    Lehmann is the clinical director of the Stem Cell Transplantation Program at Dana-Farber/Children’s Hospital Cancer Center. She specializes in bone marrow and stem cell transplantation and the long-term effects of stem cell transplantation. In addition, she is an assistant professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School.
  • David A. Williams, MD
    Williams, a pediatric hematologist, is the chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the director of Translational Research. His expertise is in genetic blood disorders, Fanconi anemia and bone marrow failure disorders. His research focuses on the biology of blood-forming stem cells and the cause of genetic diseases of the blood.
  • Jennifer Eile, MS, PNP
    Braunstein is a pediatric nurse practitioner in the Hematology/Oncology Program.She specializes in the treatment of rare anemias including thalassemia, Diamond-Blackfan anemia and MDS. In addition, she oversees the clinical safety and quality research for the patients in the Hematology program.
