| Robert Truog, MD, Director of IPEP |
We are pleased to announce that the success and growth of the Program to Enhance Relational & Communication Skills (PERCS) has led to the establishment of the Institute for Professionalism & Ethical Practice (IPEP) at Children's Hospital Boston.
What we do
Since 2002, our team has been pioneering innovative educational strategies to address clinicians' communication skills and relational capacities.
With increased funding and hospital support, IPEP will add administrative support, enhance its research programs and expand its educational offerings to clinicians at Children's and beyond. A new and expanded website will be available soon!

PERCS Uses Award-winning Videos to Enhance Learning
"Difficult Conversations in Pediatric Palliative Care" is an award-winning film developed collaboratively by PERCS faculty and the Initiative for Pediatric Palliative Care (IPPC), a project dedicated to improving care for children with life-threatening conditions and their families. It is one in a series of films, offering rich and evocative portrayals of children, families, and professional caregivers, that is available for purchase from the IPPC website. "Speaking the Same Language," a short film used in many PERCS workshops, is also included in the series.
