Preoperative Clinic

Getting here

Plan to arrive at the Pre-Op Clinic 90 minutes before the surgery is scheduled. If you need directions to Boston Children's Hospital, maps and directions are available.

Once you have arrived

The Pre-Op Clinic is located on the 1st floor of the Main Building, near the Patient Entertainment Center. As you enter the hospital through the Main Entrance, take the stairs on the left or the glass elevator up one flight. As you arrive at the top of the stairs (or exit the elevator), go right, following the signs to Admitting/Pre-Op Clinic. The clinic is on the left.

What you'll see when you arrive

When you enter the hospital...
...take the stairs on the left or the glass elevator (near the information desk)up one level...
Turn right as you exit the elevator or immediately at the top of the stairs and follow the signs to Admitting/Pre-Op Clinic.

We have a wonderful play area for patients to enjoy while they wait.
You will meet the doctor or nurse practitioner in one of our exam rooms. Here we will answer any questions you may have, do any necessary tests, and provide information on how to prepare and what to expect before, during and after surgery.
