The Chronic Pulmonary and Ventilator Program at Children's Hospital Boston cares for children, adolescents and young adults with severe lung disease and chronic respiratory failure.
Expert Team
Our program is directed by Virginia Kharasch, MD, who has been caring for ventilator-dependent children with chronic respiratory failure for more than 15 years.

The staff consists of an experienced team of clinicians, all with specialized training in the care of children with chronic lung disease.

Our team includes:

  • Pediatric pulmonologists
  • Pulmonary nurses
  • Respiratory therapists

We also work closely with pediatric specialists in Orthopedics, Otolaryngology and Surgery, when appropriate, to ensure that our patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
