Jeffrey Burns, MD, MPH

Program Director
Dr. Burns is Chief, Critical Care Medicine, Boston Children’s Hospital & Associate Professor of Anesthesia, Harvard Medical School. As Chief of Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Burns directs three pediatric intensive care units with over 3,000 admissions per year, and over 30 faculty and 16 fellows who specialize in the care of critically ill children.
Traci Wolbrink, MD, MPH

Associate Program Director
Dr. Wolbrink completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Brown University, and fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Wolbrink’s academic interests include the application of innovative medical educational technologies globally.
Ryan Hastings, MBA

Manager of Critical Care Services
Graduating from Stonehill College with a Bachelor of Healthcare Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Northeastern University, Ryan oversees and manages the administrative functions of Critical Care Medicine and its programs and services.
Kari Hess

Project Manager
Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Minor in Education from Duke University and soon to graduate with a Master in Public Health Leadership from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kari is responsible for managing a wide variety of projects within the OPENPediatrics Program. Ms. Hess communicates with internal and external collaborators, vendors, and partners about project developments and the current state of the program.
Joana Melo

User Experience Analyst
Joana graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Wheaton College in 2007. She is responsible for interfacing with beta users to ensure a seamless experience with the platform. Ms. Melo analyzes usage of the application to help drive future content production and application development.
David Humphreys

Content Producer
Leading the development team in content production, Dave is also responsible for OPENPediatrics videography and video editing. He graduated with a dual degree in Journalism and Communication from University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2009 and went on to complete his MFA in Media Art, graduating from Emerson College in 2012. Dave also teaches video production at Emerson College.
Brittanie Marques

Medical Illustrator & Animator
Brittanie graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, majoring in Animation. Ms. Marques is responsible for creating medical animations and illustrations for OPENPediatrics content.
Samuel Reynolds

Video Production Assistant
Graduating from Northeastern University in 2011 with a degree in Biology, Samuel Reynolds edits OPENPediatrics videos for medical content, which includes highlighting any pertinent information for clinicians within the video. Sam features this information through the use of pop-up text, informational slides, graphs, tables, or Prezi movies.
Ariana Samalot

Administrative Associate
Ariana graduated from Wesleyan University in 2011 with a degree in Science in Society. She provides administrative and program support for OPENPediatrics; this includes assisting with projects, social media, website updates, and coordinating meetings.
Susan Jay

Voice-Over Artist
Susan Jay is responsible for narrating all OPENPediatrics video content. Though her work as a voice-over artist has been a passion for many years (one of her dreams is to have a national commercial!), Susan has also worked a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Operating Room team at Boston Children’s Hospital for 12 years.
Dennis Daniel

Chief Pediatric Resident
Dr. Dennis Daniel, Chief Resident in the Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics, graduated from Brown University where he studied Human Biology – Human Health and Disease. Dr. Daniel works as part of the Content Development Team to create assessment questions for the educational modules in addition to investigating the impact of the OPENPediatrics platform on pediatric resident education in critical care medicine.
Rebecca Burns

Administrative Associate
Rebecca recently graduated from Wesleyan University. While there, she majored in history and took the pre-requisite classes for medical school. Currently, Rebecca oversees the peer review process for the platform, obtains permission for content and helps to assess the user response to the application.
Nicole Stenquist
Research Data Coordinator
Graduating from Williams College in 2012 with a degree in psychology, Nicole works on XML and video content projects for the OPENPediatrics Program.
