The Children's Hospital Boston Simulator Program is the first hospital-based simulator at a teaching hospital in New England. The simulation suite is a dual-purpose simulation laboratory and procedure room with an adjacent control room and conference room located within a state-of-the-art Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
The Simulator Programs Directors represent both physician and nursing leadership. Our Associate Director is an intensivist physician as well as a Scholar of the Harvard Macy Program. Our Coordinator holds a Masters in Education. The Simulator Program operates as a post-graduate university for trainees from multiple disciplines and departments. The Simulator Program offers a myriad of simulation-enhanced solutions to educational challenges that fall within four broad categories:
- crisis resource management
- competency-based training
- professional staff development
- institutional policy implementation
