Observer Policies
  • Absolutely no funding will be provided to observers by Children's Hospital Boston for any reason. All observers should make arrangements for housing accommodations and meals prior to his/her arrival.
  • Due to the large number of physicians interested in observing in the MSICU, observation is limited to a maximum of three months.
  • No direct patient contact is allowed at any time during the observation period.
  • Visas must be obtained individually. The Division of Critical Care Medicine is unable to sponsor visas for observers.
  • All observers are expected to sign an agreement acknowledging his/her understanding of the above policies. This agreement must be signed prior to the observers start in the MSICU. Observers are also required to sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
  • Due to an increased interest in observing in the Medical / Surgical ICU, we are not able to accommodate all applicants. Please be aware of our limitations.
