Speech-Language Pathology Program

Language and Auditory Processing Program (LAPP)

The Language and Auditory Processing Program (LAPP) is conducted in our Lexington site. It is an interdisciplinary program providing evaluation of school age children with suspected auditory processing difficulty.

These children often show language, learning, or attentional difficulty in school and at home.

Assessment

The assessment includes audiological evaluation with auditory processing testing, an oral and written language evaluation.

Children must be at least seven years old to have a LAPP evaluation.

Evaluation

The LAPP evaluation provides information on a child's strengths and weaknesses in the above areas. Specific recommendations for therapeutic intervention, educational placement and accommodations, and enhancement of compensatory strategies, are shared with the family in an informing conference.

Make an Appointment

LAPP evaluations are done in Lexington. To request an appointment call 781-672-2100. An intake for a LAPP evaluation will be sent to you. Once the intake has been completed and returned, the family will be contacted regarding an appointment date.

Parents will be expected to provide copies of all current educational, psychological, and speech-language testing, the current Individualized Educational Plan (IEP), and any other pertinent documents.
