Flower Conferences
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program staff members are dedicated to increasing awareness of hearing loss and its impact on education, family interactions, and language acquisition. An equally important goal of the program is to strengthen the skills of professionals and parents already familiar with the needs of children with hearing loss.
Next Steps... Conferences
Intended for parents and professionals from throughout the New England region, the "Next Steps..." conferences bring together stakeholders who are invested in assuring timely initiation of effective, family-centered, early intervention with very young babies who have hearing loss.

The success of the 2001 consortium has been repeated on a biennial basis in 2003, 2005, and 2007. Through a combination of large group presentations and smaller group workshops plus short courses, participants interact with one another and with national experts during the two-day consortium. Presentations cover a wide range of topics, including audiological, medical, psychological, cultural, methodological, and developmental considerations in providing support for families and effective intervention with deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers.

Information about Next Steps ...2009 will be posted as the planning process proceeds.
