Clinical Services (Division of Diagnostic Radiology):
Our Facilities
Radiographic/X-ray Units
Our radiographic X-ray units are specially equipped with smaller than typical focal spots to improve the sharpness of the image quality while allowing us to minimize the amount of radiation exposure. In addition, conveniently placed equipment controls allow technologists to easily communicate and comfort patients during exams.
Radiographic/Fluoroscopic Units
Fluoroscopy is a technique enabling doctors to obtain live, moving images of internal structures of the body. It is the basis for certain diagnostic tests that use contrast, such as an upper or lower GI series or a voiding cysto-urethrogram. Our standard radiographic/fluoroscopic units are housed in the inpatient radiography suite for routine fluoroscopic imaging. Modifications are made to the radiographic tubes to accommodate for differences in patient size and age. In addition, the fluoroscopic tubes contain extra filtration to reduce patient radiation exposures. The digital-spot-film recording capability of the system is adjusted to record images at the least possible exposure per image.
