The Division of Diagnostic Radiology at Children's Hospital Boston provides plain radiography (X-rays) and fluoroscopy. These diagnostic tests enable our pediatric radiologists to accurately assess and diagnose illnesses or injuries that affect the abdomen, chest, extremities, gastrointestinal tract, skull,
spine and urinary tracts.
The division is responsible for the bulk of diagnostic exams performed at Children's. More than 102,000 X-ray and fluoroscopy exams are performed here annually, making it one of the largest general diagnostic radiology centers for the pediatric population in the country.
Our medical team strives to keep the dose from X-rays as low as reasonably achievable without compromising the information that is needed to make the correct diagnosis.
