Flower Visiting Our Center
Patients visiting the Center for Aero-Digestive Disorders (CADD) typically meet with a number of specialists during their visit. All of our doctors and staff work extremely hard to see each patient at their scheduled time and make their visit as enjoyable as possible.

How do I make an appointment?

To request an appointment for your child, email Barbara Walrath or call 617-355-3795.

When you call, it will be determined if the program is appropriate for your child. If it is, an appointment will be made to meet with specialists in our three core services: Otolaryngology, Pulmonary, and Gastroenterology. Other appointments (Cardiology, Neurology, General Surgery, Cardiac Surgery) could be coordinated if indicated. CADD clinic is held on Tuesdays.

What should I bring to the appointment?

Please bring any relevant outside clinical information with you that will help us provide your child with the best possible care. These may include x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, pathology studies, operating room notes, or doctor clinic notes. It is preferable that these materials also be faxed to 617-730-0337 prior to the appointment.

How long will my appointment take?

Patients frequently require multiple tests and meet with a number of specialists. Your child will meet with specialists from Otolaryngology, Pulmonary, and Gastroenterology. Each specialty appointment will take approximately one hour. Your entire visit may take up to 5 hours.

What happens during the appointment?

Your child will meet with each of the three specialists from Otolaryngology, Pulmonary, and Gastroenterology who will review the medical history and perform a physical exam. Additional testing (chest x-rays, pulmonary function test, etc.) may also be coordinated on the same day.

What happens after the appointment?

After the appointment, the team meets to discuss its findings and a member of the CADD team will contact you to provide information about diagnosis and treatment options.

Barbara Walrath (Program Coordinator, 617-355-3795) and Amanda Coburn (Physician Assistant, 617-355-4593) will be your CADD contact support. They will work with you to coordinate the treatment plan and assist you throughout your child's treatment.
