Clinical Services:
Habilitative Audiology Program
The Habilitative Audiology Program at Children's Hospital Boston provides advanced hearing technology for children with permanent hearing loss.

The program assists children in using technology to hear, while providing the communication link between families, schools and therapists necessary for children to make the best use of their hearing devices.

The program, led by Marilyn Neault, PhD, CCC-A, provides audiological support for children who use technology to help them hear, by means of these services:

  • Audiological services of the Cochlear Implant Team
  • Sound Outreach to Schools Program for the support of educational amplification technologies (contact Charlotte Mullen, M.A., Audiologist, (781)216-2216)
Expert Staff
The Habilitative Audiology staff includes audiologists in the Cochlear Implant Program and Sound Outreach to Schools Program.

Audiologists in the Diagnostic Audiology Program provide habilitative services as well, recommending hearing aids and other ways to assist children in learning to use their sense of hearing to aid in communication.
