The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at Children's Hospital Boston and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is one of the most recognized in the nation. This program has trained more leaders in the hematology and oncology field than any other.
The objective of the training program is to provide the highest quality clinical and research training in hematology/oncology, so that our fellows become excellent clinicians and independent investigators making substantive contributions to biomedical research. Our program admits six new fellows per year. The fellows spend one year in full-time clinical work and two or more years in research training, depending on previous training and interests. The program is geared to broadly train MD or MD/PhD fellows in any of the areas of clinical research, including outcomes, ethics, epidemiology, therapeutic trials and translational research, or in one of the major basic science disciplines: protein chemistry, structural biology, molecular biology, stem cell and developmental biology, genetics, genomics, immunology, systems biology, neuroscience or cell biology.
