Flower Diagnostic Evaluation
The Dana-Farber/Children's Hospital Cancer Care team understands the diagnostic and evaluation period can be a stressful time for your child and family. In order to make an accurate diagnosis, our pediatric oncologists will order many tests and procedures to help us identify the type and location(s) of cancer your child has.

At times, you may feel overwhelmed by the number of tests we recommend your child receive. It is important you understand that we order all of these tests because our doctors need as much information as possible to accurately identify the type of cancer your child has and its location(s) within the body. Working as a team throughout the diagnostic process, pediatric oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and hematopathologists will use this information to outline the best possible treatment plan.

Our doctors, nurses and support staff are available to answer your questions at any time during the diagnostic process.
