Flower Make an Appointment
If your child has been diagnosed with a blood disorder, it is important you schedule an appointment with our pediatric specialists. The first appointment is a chance for our pediatric specialist to conduct a physical exam, review any previous test results, obtain a medical history of the child and their family. This helps our doctors identify and prevent any possible complications and outline an ongoing treatment plan.

Use these steps to schedule a new patient appointment:

Collect all relevant clinical information regarding your child's condition, including:
  • Written records reporting results from any current blood test
  • Written records reporting the results of blood testing done prior to your child's illness
  • Any other relevant written information you have from other specialists
  • For certain genetic blood diseases, we may also ask for results of testing on parents
Fax or mail us this information.
  • Fax: 617-730-0641
  • Children's Hospital Boston
    Longwood Avenue, Fegan 717
    Boston, MA 02115
Call us at 617-355-8246.
Schedule an appointment as a new patient in the ambulatory hematology program. Our menu driven phone directory will connect you to the right person.
Why do we ask for your child's records before scheduling an appointment?
By providing us with previous test results, our healthcare providers can familiarize themselves with your child and make the most of your first appointment. The results also help us choose the best lead physician for your child's condition.

How do I collect this information?
Call your child's primary care physician and explain that you are scheduling an appointment with a pediatric specialist at Children's Hospital Boston. Ask them to fax us all relevant information related to your child's diagnosis. If you need our assistance in gathering your child's records please call us at 617-355-8246.
